Jewish heritage tours
The presence of the Jewish community in Poland dates back to over 1000 years. For centuries, Poland was a safe haven for Jews from all over Europe who found refuge here from persecution in other countries. It is estimated that before the outbreak of the World War 2, the territory of Poland was inhabited by about 3 million Jews.
The tragic years of the war of 1939-1945 brought almost complete destruction of the Jewish community in Poland, which fell victim to the criminal policy of the German occupant. However, the post-war years did not mean the end of persecution. As a result of the policy of the communist government in Poland, the majority of the Jews who survived the war were forced to leave the country. Currently, the number of Jewish communities is estimated at over ten thousand people.
Over 1000 years of Jewish history in Poland could not leave any legacy. Despite the huge losses of war, many traces of the presence of the Jewish community in Poland have survived to this day: synagogues, cemeteries, schools and other buildings related to Jewish culture.
In our offer we have several trips that enable visiting a places associated with the Jewish community. Tours start in Warsaw, Krakow, Lodz and Lublin.
